Poetry of Shahmir Soomro
Translated by Nawab Ali Rahoo
Eyes gazedintoeyes; the exhaustion of eyesgot over.
In beloved’s hug, the exhaustion of centuries got over.
On her lips, my wish is asleep!
He looked at me smilingly, the exhaustion of hearts got over.
All the trees in my city were dancing rhythmically,
Yesterday evening, she arrived, the exhaustion of streets got over.
After collecting water from neighboring village, they returned,
The companions became tired, the exhaustion of clay water potsgot over.
Today I had a rest under the shadow of hair,
All griefs died, the exhaustion of happiness got over.
In the season of autumn on the branches of tree, they were dancing
Seeing chicks flying, the exhaustion of birds got over.
The waves were having detailed talks with shores,
Travelers reached the destiny, the exhaustion of boats got over.
As children returned to their homes after playing,
Seeing kids joyous, the exhaustion of mothers got over.
