Dr.Zulfikar Siyal Art & Personality: M.H Khan
When Dr. Zulfikar emerged from customs & immigration, I had little trouble in recognizing him from the description given to me and we met each other with great warmth.
I had arranged for Dr. Zulfikar to stay in an apartment in the “Bloomsbury” area of Central London, just a few minutes from the British Museum and London’s famous “West-End”.
A brief rest we commenced to make an appointment with a well known London Consultant with regard to Dr. Zulfikars mother who was suffering an illness and was the main reason for Dr. Zulfikars visit to London.
Dr. Zulfikars stayed with me for some days before he left for France & Belgium and again for few days on his return. After Dr. Zulfikar had completed his medical consultations in London. I took him on a sightseeing tour of the city including in the tower of London, Trafalgar Square, Downing Street, and many other places of interest.
During the time that Dr. Zulfikars stayed with me I came to know him quite well and I found him to be very good company. He was able to make conversation on a wide variety of subjects ranging from Art & Culture to the latest advances in Science & Technology. He also expressed a deep interest and appreciation of the ancient cultures of Pakistan while we were visiting an exhibition of the great Indus Valley civilization at the British Museum. However, the most impressive aspect of my friend’s character is his humility. Dr. Zulfikar belongs to a family of Landlords in Sindh the time that I have spent with Dr.Zulfikar belongs to a family of Landlords in Sindh the time that I have spent with Dr.Zulfikar in London, and subsequently, in Karachi has proved to be a rewarding experience.
Not only did I acquire a good friend but I observed a fine individual who is a good ambassador for his country. He is a simple and straightforward man. Pakistan could do with a few more people like Dr. Zulfikar Ali Sial.
